Friday Focus – November 17, 2017

Friday FocusHi All!
Here is your weekly dose of Friday Focus, a list of what I’m enjoying, learning or pondering.

What I’m reading –
Every November I take a book from off the shelf that I have read before; that had an impact on my life over the
years and re-read it. This year, I pick up again: As Bread That Is Broken by Peter B. van Breemen, S.J. Fr. Peter
writes in depth and with bold simplicity. At times his words touch my very soul and all I can do is stop, put down
the book and hold the thought as it renews and transforms my mind. This will be the third reading of this classic
book in the last 20 years.

What I’m (waiting to) listen to –
A Tribute to Dan Fogelberg will be released on November 17. Since my Freshman year of high school (1975), I have
enjoyed Dan’s music. So much of it is timeless. I am looking forward to hearing artistic renderings of his classics.
Some of the artists taking on this challenge are: Garth Brooks, The Eagles, Vince Gill and Amy Grant, Zac Brown,
Jimmy Buffett, Joe Walsh and others.

What I am experimenting with –
Full Focus Planner – This incredibly crafted and designed planner is a game changer for me. The system is designed
to keep you focused to achieve your goals. Unlike so many other productivity “tools”, there’s a practical system
woven throughout the notebook. Within each section, keys dictate specifically how to use each section and what
symbols to use to differentiate between various statuses or notes. I’m only in the first quarter of using it and I’ve
already achieved 2 of 3 goals and well on my way to achieve number 3.

Soar with wings of eaglesyou gotta see this. This captures my love of the outdoors, the elegance of eagles in
flight and the majesty of the wilderness.

Quote I’m pondering –
“A person’s success in life can usually be measured by the number of uncomfortable conversations he or she is
willing to have.” ~ Tim Ferris

And as always, please let me know your requests and suggestions on Twitter. Which focus point above is your
favorite? What do you want more (or less) of? Let me know. Just send a tweet to @daniel_jurek and put
#FridayFocus in there so I can find it.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Peace and all good,
Dan
