Friday Focus – November 16, 2018

Hello everybody!

Here is your weekly dose of Friday Focus, a smattering of what I’m reading, doing, listening to, watching or pondering.

What I’m readingFr. Ron Rolheiser, one of my favorite modern day spiritual authors eloquently explains the spiritual maturation process needed for those with strong egos. His article “Displacing Ego and Narcissism” is very good.

What I’m praying with this Advent – It’s only a few days away – Advent is my favorite season in the liturgical year. This year, staying close to Franciscan spirituality, I will be using “Advent with Saint Clare”. I just wanted to let you know about it in case you’re looking for something to guide you through this great season of waiting and watching.

What I’m watching– I am a fan of the music of Michael Buble’. So enjoy this Carpool Karaoke! An inspiring discussion about how he and his wife battled their son’s cancer.

Quote I’m pondering – “Silence strips man and makes him like a child: pure but frail, innocent, and without provisions. Silence shapes us as the blacksmith works metal. “ ~ Robert Cardinal Sarah
