Here is your weekly dose of Friday Focus, a smattering of what I’m reading, doing, listening to, watching or pondering.
What I’m reading – Reminding us that we are all part of a bigger story, Richard Rohr does a wonderful job helping us to the “Christ in Paul’s Eyes”.
What I’m experimenting with – “Braintap” is a new technology that seems to be promising in the research of meditation and mindfulness in neuroscience training. This technology uses neuro-algorithm to produce brainwave entrainment (not entertainment, but entrainment) – the synchronization of brainwaves to a specialized sound. Fascinating stuff.
Songs and Psalms from my past – As many of you know, I, like so many of you really like music. Through the middle teen, high school, college years and into my adulthood, music shaped my faith, expressed my struggles, celebrated my joys and accomplishments. So as the weeks and months roll on, I’ll share with you in Friday Focus, the music of my life. Some songs that inspire faith, but all of them inspired me in one way or another.
You’ll hear a lot from Dan Fogelberg. Part of the Plan stands out as one song that allows me to reach back to mid-seventies and be reminded that my life is not just a random series of events, but rather, an unfolding of bigger plan than I could ever imagine.
Quote I’m pondering – “And the day came when the risk to remain closed tightly in a bud became more painful than the risk it took to blossom ~ Anonymous
