Here is your weekly dose of Friday Focus, a smattering of what I’m reading, listening to, learning, watching or pondering.
>What I’m watching – D-Day on Netflix. Remembering those who lost their lives, found themselves wounded or lost someone they love. I reflected too on all those in other battles, not just in WWII, but all the battles, all the men and women.
What I’m reading – Since Easter, I’ve decided to read through the Acts of the Apostles, in the New Testament of the Christian Scriptures. The early church begins to try and understand the encounter of Jesus’s life, message, suffering, death, and resurrection in and through the power of the Holy Spirit. This experience and encounter has shaped history for the last 2000 years. (You can click on the link or dust off your bible, open it to this wonderful book and enjoy).
What I’m listening to – Chicago Transit Authority Remastered & Repackaged. This album celebrates its 50th anniversary. From my middle school years and all the way through college, “Chicago” was one of my favorite bands. Listening to this, their first album, brought back so many wonderful memories. They were and are an incredible band.
Quote I’m pondering – The primary problem is that our identities are too small. We tend to rely most on our smaller, cultural identities and ignore our larger, common identity as members of the body of Christ. . . . Indeed, adopting a common identity is the key to tearing down cultural divisions and working toward reconciliation. —Christena Cleveland

BrainTap – A few of you have asked me to share the link to the BrainTap free trial again, so here it is: Click here. BrainTap Technology continues to really help me as I use it 2-3 times a day to retrain my brain. Subtle yet very noticeable changes continue to reveal themselves in a positive way. Many of my clients are finding good results with it as well. You don’t need the headset, earbuds will do. If you would like to try out the headset at our office, please give us a call and we can arrange a time for you to come in and try it (less than 30 minutes).
