Here is your weekly dose of Friday Focus, a list of what I’m enjoying, learning, listening to or pondering.
What I’m reading –
This article from the New York Times Magazine was a wonderful artistic exhibition of couples who have been married more than 40 years. Time Stood Still is a simply joy.
What I’m listening to –
I saw Vishten a few years ago at Festival International de Louisane. Listening to them again is just a delight.
What I’m watching –
I just got my British history lesson of the last 100 years by watching “The Royal House of Windsor” on Netflix. The older I get the more I seem to appreciate history. I can hear many (and I mean many) of my former teachers and educational colleagues (Church history, American history, European history, World history, etc) say to me “see Jurek, I told you this stuff was interesting.”
Quote I’m pondering –
“What we usually call the real world is not Real at all. It is a flaky as they come. Laugh at it; weep over it; pray for it; take every opportunity to expose it; seek to redeem it. But never make the fatal mistake of thinking it isReal.” -N. Gordon Cosby,Seized by the Power of a Great Affection
And as always, please let me know your requests and suggestions on email. Which focus point above is your favorite? What do you want more (or less) of? Also, please share with me what you are reading, learning, pondering and watching. I may just share it with others in a future edition of Friday Focus.. Just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and put “Friday Focus” in the subject header.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Peace and all good
