Friday Focus – July 27, 2018

Hello everybody!

Here is your weekly dose of Friday Focus, a list of what I’m reading, listening to, watching or pondering.

What I’m reading –
Holding on to Hope: The Journey Beyond Darkness by Kathryn J. Hermes, FSP. We all have dark times and this book is guide to help us through them. I recommend this book often to my clients and friends. There are also journaling exercises that are very helpful to walk you through the dark times.

What I’m listening to –
Music of Unity and Peace – Taize’. This ecumenical Christian Community from France continues to bring contemplative, simple chants and hymns to people all over the world. I came across this album for the first time this week. It is delightful to listen to while I’m doing desk work.

What I’m watching –
My workday startup routine has been enjoyable these last few weeks as I have had the Juneau Harbor Webcam on one of my screens. With the time difference in Alaska, most mornings I get to watch at least two cruise ships come in to port and dock. I look forward to this tiny pleasure!

Quote I’m pondering –
A throwback quote from the 80’s that resurfaced for me this week.
“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.” Zig Ziglar

Listen in –
On Thursday nights from 8-9 PM (cst) I host a program, ‘Brokenhearted’ on Radio You can stream it live if you can’t get it over the airwaves. You can also go to Radio Maria and
listen to previously recorded broadcasts of the program.
