Here is your weekly dose of Friday Focus, a smattering of what I’m reading, listening to, learning, watching or pondering.
What I’m reading – I’ll be traveling a lot this upcoming week and so I am taking “The Reckless Way of Love: Notes on Following Jesus” by Dortothy Day. I’ve read some of her other works over the years and she continues to inspire me and challenge me to walk along “Way of the Gospel”.
What I’m listening to – The Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation recommended the inspirational music of Carrie Newcomer. So I looked her up on Amazon Music and have been delighted to listen to hers acoustic music throughout the day. One of my favorites is her song: “Sanctuary”.
A podcast I’m listening to – My Functional Trainer, Jade Hayes sent me this podcast that has been like drinking water from a fire hose. Ben Greenfield’s “16 Reasons You’re Not Burning Fat.” He does a wonderful job explaining the multiple mechanisms underlying why the human body can be resistant to fat loss, and how to achieve truly sustainable, long-lasting weight loss in a safe and efficient manner.
