Friday Focus – December 7, 2018

Hello everybody!

Here is your weekly dose of Friday Focus, a smattering of what I’m reading, doing, listening to, watching or pondering.

What I’m ReadingStars at Night by Paula D’Arcy is excellent. For those who have experienced loss of any kind, this book will be all the more insightful and helpful. At some point we all find ourselves navigating the dark night. Beyond the loss of loved ones, through disillusionment, job loss, loss of faith, and even addiction and we know it in times we feel betrayed and when we are abused. This book is a guiding light leading to hope!

A Helpful App – For those struggling to learn the art of meditation and contemplative prayer, Insight Timer may help you find a way to learn the discipline of meditation. This is also helpful for high stress, anxiety and racing thoughts.

What I’m Listening To – One of my dear friends sent me this song after a heartfelt conversation. It spoke right to the core – God, I want to be changed! “Different” by Micah Tyler

Quote I’m Pondering – Henri Nouwen was once asked: “Are you an optimist?” His reply: “No, not naturally, but that isn’t important. I live in hope, not optimism.”
