Hello everybody and Merry Christmas!
Four more sleeps until Christmas!
Here is your weekly dose of Friday Focus, a smattering of what I’m reading, doing, listening to, watching or pondering.
What I’m reading; or having read to me– Living in Cajun country means enjoying the spirit of Christmas in the swamp. A Cajun Night Before Christmas is a wonderful read. Yet, I appreciate it all the more when a Cajun reads it out loud. Listen in and enjoy having this cultural Cajun classic read out loud.
What I’m listening to – The First Christmas Morning by Dan Fogelberg was released in 1999. This week was the first time I heard it; it’s my new favorite Christmas album. The music is a collection of Christmas songs inspired by medieval, Baroque and Renaissance melodies with the classic Dan Fogelberg musical signature. “In the Bleak Midwinter” is my favorite track on the album. Along with the link provided, you can also find in on Amazon Music. Wow!
What’s inspiring me – This version of O Holy Night by Michael Phelps, no matter how many times I hear it, brings me chills and more than few tears well up in my eyes.
A seasonal App – Winter Snow Scenery Live Wallpaper is a free download. I really like and miss winter, so this app keeps me connected to this sacred silent season.
Quote I’m pondering – “Long lay the world in sin and error pining. Till he appear’d and the soul felt its worth. A thrill of hope the weary soul rejoices. For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn! ` O Holy Night
