Friday Focus – August 17, 2018

Hello everybody!
Here is your weekly dose of Friday Focus, a list of what I’m reading, listening to, watching or pondering.

What I’m reading – As you are reading this, I’m on vacation. I’m taking the book Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer with me. This is the story about Christopher MCandless. He sold everything he had and invented a new life in Alaska. Tragically, his body was found by a moose hunter. I can’t wait to read his story.

What I’m listening to – Again, on vacation. I intend to turn off the noise and just listen to the sounds around me. To be aware of the wild-ness, open-ness and majesty of the wilderness. To
hear people talking in crowds and to listen to the wind and wildlife and hear once again that which is nature.

What I’m enjoying – Moments when I get to play and interact with my two grandsons.

Watching my daughters become parents is a wonderful experience. Sharing this time of life with Jane is just another part of the long-range plan. Quote I’m pondering – “ In matters of conscience, first thoughts are best. In matters of prudence, last thoughts are best.” ~ Robert Hall

Listen in –
On Thursday nights from 8-9 PM (cst) I host a program, ‘Brokenhearted’ on Radio You can stream it live if you can’t get it over the airwaves. You can also go to Radio Maria and listen to previously recorded broadcasts of the program.
