Here is your weekly dose of Friday Focus, a smattering of what I’m reading, doing, listening to, watching or pondering.
It’s Good Friday and Easter Sunday is Coming!
A Good Friday Tradition – The Franciscan Way of the Cross is something I do on Good Friday. It’s not all that different from any other Way of the Cross, it just incorporates the Peace Prayer of St. Francis into the 14 stations.
What I’m watching – This a repeat from last week…. good things bear repeating. It’s Friday, Sunday’s Coming is one of the iconic inspirational sermons of Dr. Tony Camplo. As we get closer to the Paschal Mystery of celebrating Christs Suffering, Death and Resurrection, spend a few minutes listening to this classic inspired preaching. If you only have time for the best of the best, start at 51:46 and enjoy.
What I’m listening to – I found this late in Lent, but I have been listening to it this Holy Week. Taize Songs for Lent is just the music I need to prepare for the Easter mysteries.
Quote I’m pondering – “ Jesus said, Father forgive them; they do not know what they are doing.” ~ Gospel of Luke, chapter 23:34
Affordable Counseling at the Pax Renewal Center – We have two excellent graduate student interns who are working here at the PRC. We welcome Claire Haydel and Auriel Campbell. Our graduate student interns are able to offer excellent counseling service at a greatly reduced rate. If you know of someone who would benefit from their service, give us a call.
Listen in – On Thursday nights from 8-9 PM (cst) I host the program, ‘Brokenhearted’ on Radio Maria.us. You can stream it live if you can’t get it over the airwaves. You can also go to Radio Maria and listen to previously recorded broadcasts of the program.
