Marriage isn’t always sunshine and rainbows. Whether a new problem has arisen in the relationship or things have gotten stagnant over time, turning to a family therapist or psychotherapist can help. With the added stress and unique challenges placed on marriages formed by the Christian faith, marriage counseling — specifically Christian marriage therapy — is extremely effective. If God is important to you and your spouse, there are ways to improve the situation by strengthening your faith and your relationship simultaneously. Pax Renewal Center offers a variety of events that can cater to your specific needs; here are three going on this summer.
Sometimes, the best thing you can do to improve your relationship is just to spend a few days together. This intensive retreat focuses on stabilizing the foundation of your marriage through faith, hope, and love; consider it marriage education in a group setting where you will both leave having learned something that will bring you closer together. June 7 and 8, 2019.
We know that you’re lives are busy. If you aren’t able to commit to two full days in June, or simply don’t feel that you need such an intensive experience, you can join us for one evening a week in our five-week program. During your time, you will be able to truly understand the unique relationship that is Christian marriage (and how it differs from other marriages) while working together with your spouse. Tuesday Nights, September 3, 10, 17, 24, October 1 (6:30 – 8:30).
Just like your body needs to see a doctor for routine exams, sometimes your relationship needs a checkup of its own. Because this session is longer than usual, you’ll be able to fully delve into your marriage to discover what’s working and what isn’t. The workshop is designed for couples of all kinds — whether you’re happy, unhappy, or somewhere in between, you can benefit from a marriage checkup. Saturday June 22 — 8:30 to 12:30; Saturday July 13 — 8:30 to 12:30; Saturday January, 18, 2020 — 8:30 to 12:30.
Approximately 93% of marriage counseling patients agreed that had gained tools during their visits to better handle their problems. Although a weekend trip to a Christian couples retreat may not fix all of your issues, it’s an excellent place to start. You don’t have to suffer in silence anymore; with Christian marriage therapy, you’ll discover a greater connection with both your God and your spouse.
